Springfield is an unincorporated community near Kingstowne in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States and is a suburb of Washington, D.C. Springfield postal addresses are found in three census-designated places: Springfield, North Springfield and West Springfield and Newington. Springfield District, located in the same area, is one of nine districts of Fairfax County.

Franconia is located near Kingstowne just southwest of the City of Alexandria in Fairfax County. Franconia has existed as a community since the 1870s when a station by that name opened on the RF&P Railroad; however, like most of the surrounding area, it only began to develop into its present, suburban form in the 1950s.

Fort Belvoir is a United States Army installation near Kingstowne and a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County. Originally, it was the site of the Belvoir plantation. Today, Fort Belvoir is home to a number of important United States military organizations.

Chancery of Kingstowne is a community of garden-style condos in the Kingstowne area of Franconia in Fairfax County. Chancery offers bigger condos than many other condominiums found in the area. Chancery is very close to a scenic lake and the Kingstowne Towne Centre. Most condos at Chancery were built in the late 1990s.
